Biography of Mashrafe Mortaza
Mashrafe Mortaza is the current captain of Bangladesh
National Cricket Team. He is considered as the countries first world-class fast
bowler. Mashrafe is such a loveable character. He has the Credibility of all
his teammates, which makes it easier for him to lead the team. Teammates call
him "Pagla" (Mad) because of his funny and crazy stuff.
Mashrafe Mortaza is someone who is full of energy and enthusiasm all the time.
Mashrafe has all the qualities and attributes to be a great leader. He
has the magical ability to inspire the team in tough situations. He can bring
out the best in a player when needed.
Under Mashrafe's captaincy, Bangladesh
produced some amazing results in the recent past. Mashrafe has a unique way to
lead the team. He is not someone who remains cool and calm in the field, rather

Mashrafe Mortaza is known as 'Narail Express' as he used to bowl quite fast at the early stage of his career. But nowadays he bowls at a reduced pace, mainly because of his injury problems. Nevertheless, he still provides crucial breakthroughs with the ball in hand.
Mashrafe Mortaza made his test debut against Zimbabwe in 2001. He didn't even play any
first-class match before that. That shows how impressive he was in the
beginning. He took 4 wickets in his very first test match. Mashrafe made
his ODI debut in the same year against the same opposition.
Mashrafe played an important role in many significant victories of
Bangladesh cricket team. In most cases, his early strikes helped Bangladesh to
win those matches. No one can forget his epic spell against India in the 2007 cricket
world cup when he took 4 wickets for 38 runs.

In 2009, Mashrafe Mortaza was appointed as captain of
Bangladesh National Cricket Team. But, he got injured in his very first test
match as a captain. Mashrafe made his comeback in 2010, but he was still
struggling with his injuries. He even missed The Cricket World Cup 2011 because
of these injury problems, which was the most tragic moment of his career.
Mashrafe Mortaza was appointed as the captain for the 2nd time in 2014.
Bangladesh played the 2015 Cricket World Cup under his captaincy. Bangladesh
progressed to the quarter-final of the tournament, beating England. After the
world cup, Bangladesh won the ODI series against Pakistan, India and South Africa.
Mortaza's brave captaincy played a major role in these successes.
From the very beginning, Mashrafe Mortaza has struggled with his injury
problems. Mashrafe has had 7 major operations in his legs, knees, and ankles.
Yet, he never stopped fighting. He came back from injuries again and again and came back stronger than before. Which is why he is such an inspiration for
young players.

Mortaza's wife, Sumona Haque Shumi, was his college friend. They got married in
2006. Mashrafe Mortaza's wedding was attended by many of his teammates.
Mashrafe and Shumi are blessed with a girl and a boy.
