Mominul Haque's Biography
Mominul Haque was born on September 29, 1991, at
Cox's Bazar, Chittagong, Bangladesh. He was passionate about cricket from a very early age. His dream was to play for Bangladesh National Cricket Team. To
make his dream true, Mominul joined BKSP(Government-funded autonomous sports
institute).
He was impressive in the different age-group level cricket. Mominul
made his first-class debut for Dhaka Division in 2008-09 season. Mominul
Haque was picked for the 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup squad. By then, he was
considered as an upcoming talent. Hence, he was included in the National
Cricket Academy. Mominul was outstanding there also. He continued to score runs
at the domestic level.
That earned him a spot in the Bangladesh 'A' team
for the West Indies tour. Mominul scored a fantastic 150 in the opening match
of the tour. Back from the tour, he scored back to back centuries. Mominul came
into the spotlight when he scored an unbeaten 53 of just 28 balls for Barisal
Burners against the Khulna Royal Bengals in Bangladesh Premier League 2012.
He
won the man of the match award for this spectacular effort. At
last, Mominul's hard work paid off. Mominul was picked for the National
Team for the ODI series against West Indies. He replaced injured Shakib Al
Hasan.
